The government of Kenya, through NTSA, took up the task of changing from the manual driving licence booklet to a new card smart driving licence (Smart DL). The card contains a chip that has the driver’s information including; name, date of birth, blood group, and gender.\r\n\r\nThe Smart DL aims to assist traffic police access a driver’s history and offenses, if any.\r\n\r\nHow To Apply for Smart DL\r\n\r\nGo to https://tims.ntsa.go.ke/ on your browser and log into your TIMS Account. Enter your Username or ID number and password.\r\nClick “Get Code” and a verification code will be sent to your phone.\r\nEnter the verification code and click “Sign In”\r\nClick on “Driving Licence” and select “Apply for smart driving licence”\r\nFill in the required details. Check to ensure your details are correct then click “Next”\r\nClick “Pay” Back to Home
